We split up this post based on which writer knew each artist the best, so enjoy. Also, right up front we'd like to give serious props to Made Event for another incredibly smoothly run event. There's no doubt you guys are one of the best in the business.
Pleasurekraft
Oh Pleasurekraft, I have been waiting to see you for years now and FINALLY was able to catch you guys (at least 1 of the 2). I was running on about 3 hours of drunken sleep when I got there but I made myself go and it was so worth it despite almost falling asleep on the boat over. Needless to say, once I stepped foot off that ferry that thumping bass immediately woke me up especially when I heard the unmistakable carny/circus-like sounds of Pleasurekraft starting up.
If I do recall correctly, the first Pleasurekraft jam I recognized was one of their newer songs, Murdered Out featuring Belocca. This was only a brief sampling of their own collection to start, as the tech house vibes continued to groove further along into the night picking from songs other than their own to ease everyone in.
As the set continued though, everyone knew there surely had to be more of Pleasurekraft's catalog played, which then led to a barrage of Pleasurekraft. This streak contained songs such as Satyr Song, their remix of Zooloo by Miles Dyson (fairly certain I remember this), Tarantula, and of course Skeleton Key. Satyr Song is quite possibly one of the best songs to sing along to solely because of how many times cocaine is mentioned. Anytime you can get a crowd of people yelling "Rosé on my braaaaain, cocaine in my dick veinnn" you have a winner.

Another highlight from this streak of songs was the fact that the sample for Skeleton Key was revealed although I still have been unable to find it myself. Everyone thought the vibe was being switched to Trap randomly when in actuality you could hear the "I'm bigger than that" sample in all its true, higher pitched glory. This obviously was then picked up right into Skeleton Key for a full helping of their newest release with Green Velvet.
All in all, Pleasurekraft did the best of the night for me and I would love to see them again. Sadly, I could not muster enough energy for the up-close and personal after party at LPR as my body hated from the damage I had done to it in the days prior. Rumor has it that they could be returning to NYC with Green Velvet later in the Fall so keep your ears at the ready for that, I know I will. I just can't get enough of that ol' apple pie melody.
Ps. If anyone can ID the song that had a sample along the lines of "You always sayin' how tough work was today, well guess what? You ain't at work. DANCE", I will love you forever and ever.

Diggers
Digweed and Sasha was actually the first underground electronic show I went to. True to the underground roots, that show was at an 800-person capacity venue and was empty as the show began, with little to no presale tickets. By halfway through the night, the thing had sold out at the door and filled up with the nicest, coolest, most approachable people I had ever met. God I miss those days, but moving on.
Mr. Digweed killed it. That's all I really need to say. But to give a little background, he kicked it off with some deeper stuff, sort of building some tension and getting everyone ready to explode. Then (at least for me), the explosion came when he brought in Eric Estornel's new gem: the Maceo Plex Revenge mix of "Walk Alone" produced under Eric's Maetrik alias.
That one was by far the highlight for me (at least of the first set). An onslaught of mostly tech house followed that went for the rest of the evening, although he did play some really atmospheric stuff for a brief stint towards the end of his first set (He traded on and off with Danny T each hour from 9-12). Honestly, I was struggling to ID a good bit of what he was playing. However, I did know this one. He closed his second set with it and it was certainly another big highlight of the night. This one is still unreleased, so unfortunately I can only give you the preview. Gotta love the lyrics though.
I got a bit nostalgic with that intro story because I felt like the vibe wasn't quite the same some of the other times I've seen Digweed, but I guess you sacrifice the intimacy of a club setting with a venue like this. Also, when you know these guys are capable of doing a 6+ hour set and never fail to keep you moving, it's a little disappointing to see them only play these little hour-long sets. Danny even got on the mic at one point and mentioned how this was "amateur." All in all though, great music and a great time.

Danny T
After Digweed really got the crowd heated up it was time for New York’s own Danny Tenaglia to take over control of the party. In typical Danny T form, he mixed a seamless set filled with tracks that you don’t know, but just need to ID. I’ve seen countless facebook and youtube comments of fans desperately trying to track down a song whose vocals went something like “In the summertime, you’ll be mine”, which may have been the tune of the night (PLEASE help us out Danny!). Here’s a look at some of the other tracks he played that night:
This song is Danny T in a nutshell—weird, cutting-edge, tribal techno. I believe he played this at EDC NYC and I still have not been able to ID it.
Finally, a song that I CAN identify. A classic, Danny’s edit of Love & Happiness that he ended the night with:
Throughout the show he continuously showed the crowd love, and of course the crowd couldn’t help but throw it right back his way. Overall, Danny really flexed his techno muscles, showing everyone why he’s the biggest legend to ever come out of this city, and one of the best at what he does in the world. Do NOT miss the next chance to see him in NYC at Sensation America on October 27, an announcement that Danny was kind enough to leak on his website.
I would also like to give a shout-out to our own wins1o for putting on a ridiculous 7 hour set at Rockaway Beach Club this past Sunday, and to WOMP4thekids for throwing one hell of a party.
